Meet Richard Gross
Richard Gross began investing in coins when he was 12 years old. As the son of a cabinet maker, Richard helped his Dad on projects and looked for ways to turn his allowance into an investment. At this young age, he began interviewing investment firms, and reviewing any prospectus they would provide. After finding their investment materials unsatisfactory he turned to coins instead of stocks for long-term investment.
Since then, Richard has been passionate about collecting, and has advised countless customers on how to begin investing in coins, and how to understand the value of their collection. His industry knowledge has led him to be a featured speaker at numerous industry events and he has been featured in literature including:
– American Half Cents: The “Little Half Sisters” second edition, Roger Coen, Jr., 1982
– National Geographic – “The First American Cent,” 1976 – bicentennial
– “So-Called Dollars” – Kappen and Hibler, 1963
– “The Half Cent Handbook” – Ed Furman, 2021
– “Early Quarters Dollars of the U.S. Mint” – Rory Ray, 2008
– “Early United States Quarters 1796-1838”, Steve Tompkins, 2008
Richard’s passion is in collectible coins and metals, which led him to the creation of his appraisal business. He is also a certified gemologist. As a lifetime member of the American Numismatic Association, and a member of the Maryland Numismatic Society since 1970, his primary goals are to help people understand what they have in their collection, and to ensure they get the best deal when it comes time to sell.

Testimonials
“Rick has been a coin dealer for all of his adult life, well over 50 years. In that time, he has amassed an enormous amount of numismatic knowledge, with specialties in early copper, (insert), (Insert) and US/World Medals. He has an excellent working knowledge of the coin market and can help you market your coins or purchase them outright. Until Covid times, he was at all major coin shows for 20-30 years and has a lot of contacts in the business. He can find that elusive coin you need for your collection.”
